On March 31, 2024, the Anticommunist Movement and Defenders of Freedom took to the streets of Miami in a car caravan with one demand: freedom for the political prisoners of the Castro tyranny.
Through the car windows, waving in the wind above the highway, the Cuban flags said it all. A rosary swayed from a rearview mirror. And over the roar of the engines, one chant repeated like a heartbeat: “It’s overβ¦ sixty years locked up.” Six decades of repression distilled into a cry for the end of oppression.
This was no ordinary protest. It was a rolling reminder that, thousands of miles from the island, there are those who have not forgotten the ones still imprisoned for thinking differently. Every flag, every horn, every car in the line was a voice for those who cannot raise their own.
