As the anniversary of 11J approaches, images and messages keep arriving from Cubans who, from inside the island, leave their mark for freedom. The #PintaTuPedacito (“Paint your piece”) campaign was not born today: it is the voice of thousands of Cubans who refuse to give up.
Every sign is a cry. Every message is a denunciation. Every photo is proof that 11J is still alive. On walls across Cuba, slogans such as “Movimiento Anticomunista” and “Viva Trump” appear, painted by anonymous hands that risk their safety to demand freedom.
Five years later, the flame still burns. Five years later, the people still stand. Five years later, we keep saying: FREEDOM!
