Protest honoring the 4th anniversary of the July 11th March in Cuba — July 11, 2025

On July 11, 2025, the Anticommunist Movement and Defenders of Freedom commemorated the fourth anniversary of the historic July 11, 2021 uprising in Cuba. In an indoor setting, a group of eight individuals gathered to raise their voices, reaffirming that “on July 11, 2021, Cuba awoke.” Holding flags proclaiming “Cuba Libre” and “Patria y Vida,” and banners such as “11-J-21” and “Fuck Communism!”, they reminded the world of the Cuban people’s courage.

The participants, seven men and one woman, read a coordinated message emphasizing how “Cubans took to the streets and realized that the dictatorship was afraid.” Despite the “brutal repression, arrests, censorship, and fear” with which the regime responded, July 11th made it clear that “the regime fears an organized people.” Their action honored the brave individuals who marched and paid with imprisonment or exile, declaring that “their courage is our standard. We do not forget them; we always keep them present.”

As active members of the Anticommunist Movement and Defenders of Freedom, the demonstrators chanted that “the struggle continues,” asserting that “Cuba belongs to us, not to the Castro Canel dictatorship or any imbecile of the tyranny.” The video concludes with a powerful chorus of slogans demanding “Freedom for political prisoners,” “Down with the PCC,” “Dignity for the people of Cuba,” and the resonant “Patria, vida y libertad!” (Homeland, life, and freedom!), ensuring that “every step we take in exile reminds the world that Cuba wants and deserves freedom.”
